We are currently seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our team in Singapore. This role is critical in ensuring reliable plant operations, supporting refinery and petrochemical facilities, and driving world-class maintenance standards.
About the Role: Mechanical Maintenance Engineer
As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for planning and executing critical static mechanical maintenance activities such as PCRs, PIT/PIMS, catalyst changes, and RIK. You will provide frontline engineering support to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations, while assisting the Maintenance Team Lead to maximize plant availability and optimize resources.
This role requires strong collaboration, the ability to lead contractors, and a focus on safety, compliance, and operational efficiency in one of Singapore’s most advanced energy facilities.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:

Deliver assigned activities in a cost-effective, safe, and efficient manner through contractors.

Lead contractors in field activities while upholding high safety standards and ensuring compliance with regulatory, industry, and company HSE requirements.

Organize and chair Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) meetings to identify and mitigate risks before work begins.

Collaborate with stakeholders to coordinate reviews, optimize schedules, and ensure effective resource utilization.

Influence non-subordinate stakeholders to achieve maintenance performance goals.

Identify opportunities for waste elimination, reliability improvement, and maintenance optimization, working with key stakeholders to close performance gaps.

Interface with the Pipeline Integrity Team for end-to-end OTR execution.

Develop and implement feasible solutions to maintain piping integrity and ensure timely execution.

Supervise and drive contractors (SIP, NDT, vendors) to adhere to execution schedules and deliver quality outcomes.

Conduct site inspections, review work requirements, and prepare field work plans that minimize plant interruptions.

Coordinate multi-discipline execution activities and manage third-party contractors, vendors, and specialists as needed.

Prepare weekly reports on progress, provide performance tracking, and develop catch-up schedules if delays occur.

Perform duties as Authorized Applicant and/or Authorized Engineer under AJI Permit to Work (PTW) requirements.

Support plant turnaround planning, field execution, and mechanical completion reviews for project handovers.
Job Requirements
To succeed as a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer at Aster, you should bring:

A Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.

Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical or piping construction within oil & gas, chemical, or petrochemical industries.

Preferably certified as a MOM Lifting Supervisor and MOM Manhole/Confined Space Entrant.

Skills in painting, insulation, and scaffolding.

Experience in brownfield maintenance and construction, including HSSE administration and detailed field execution.

Familiarity with turnaround planning, field execution, and mechanical piping design.

Strong knowledge of construction HSSE, scaffold and insulation work, and quality assurance/control (QA/QC).
